    Creating Our Song

    Rev. Tim Temerson

An African folk tradition suggests that every human being is born with
a sacred song – a song reflecting their unique essence and identity. In
Unitarian Universalism, we honor and celebrate our unique songs while
at the same time striving to bring our individual songs together into a
beautiful harmony – a harmony we sing to each other and to the world.
Today we will look forward to our upcoming mission and vision
workshop when we will listen for, create, and begin singing our
    congregation’s sacred song!

Standing on the Side of Love

    Rev. Tim Temerson

Our Unison Affirmation begins with the words, “Love is the doctrine
of this church.” On this Valentine’s Day, we will celebrate Unitarian
Universalism’s affirmation of universal and unconditional love, and
our commitment as people of faith to welcome and stand on the side of
love with our lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender brothers and
    sisters.

On ‘Faith’ : Outdated relic or ancient jewel?

    Ellen Carvill

Few words cause as much consternation among Unitarian
Universalists. For some, it has great meaning; for others it only refers
to beliefs for which there is no evidence. Yet, if we side-step our postenlightenment
minds and look to the world’s religions for wisdom,
there is an older concept of faith which might be a guide on our
    ongoing spiritual journeys.

    Darwin’s First Principle

    Rev. Tim Temerson

The first principle of Unitarian Universalism affirms “the inherent
worth and dignity of every person.” As we mark the life and legacy of
Charles Darwin, we will explore the relationship between Darwin’s
“dangerous idea” – evolution by natural selection – and his
commitment to humanitarian principles and ideas, including the
inherent worth and dignity of every person.
