Social Action Committee

In keeping with our Unitarian Universalist tradition of religious freedom and social action based in spiritual belief, thispage is offered by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron's Social Action Committee as a forum for the discussion of social issues. We welcome people of all faiths who seek spiritual guidance in dealing with the social problems confronting our nation and the world. Although we may not agree on religious doctrine, those who truly seek to act through faith in a power greater than humankind have many shared values. May this virtual community bring us together to recognize and act on those values. May we support one another in seeking knowledge in freedom, serving with love, and acting with reverence for life and in harmony with all creation.

If you are interested in being a part of the Social Action Committee, please feel free to join us at the church on the first Sunday of the month at noon. We discuss ways of involving our congregation in social action and community service. Meetings and discussions are open to all who are interested.
