Family Promise of Summit County

The UU Church of Akron is proud to support the work of Family Promise of Summit County. The mission of Family Promise is to help homeless families with children stay together and achieve sustainable independence. As a "support congregation" for Family Promise, volunteers from the UU Church of Akron cook hot meals and serve as evening and overnight hosts for families temporarily housed at area churches. We also host fundraisers and take a yearly special collection on a Sunday morning to benefit Family Promise.

If you would like to learn more about our work with Family Promise or if you would like to volunteer, please contact Russell Kunz.

Akron Area Interfaith Council Walk to Stop Hunger

As a member of the Akron Area Interfaith Council (AAIC), our congregation is proud to host AAIC's annual Walk to Stop Hunger. All proceeds from the walk benefit the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank. To learn more about the Walk to Stop Hunger or about the work of the Interfaith Council, contact  AAIC.
