16th Annual Candlelight Winter Solstice

Celebrate with family, clan and loved ones as we gather for the 16th Annual Candlelight Winter Solstice.  In this celebration we welcome the season of the returning Light, the rebirth of the Sun God and the reason for the season of enlightenment! This service has been a part of the Winter Season services for 15 years and is a vital part of our community outreach. Each year more than 120 people are in attendance; approximately 80% each year are not (yet) members of our UU Churches.

Please join us for this evening of music, song, the "Santa Play," warm spirits, and tasty treats. We are, once again, thrilled to welcome guest musicians and talent to enhance our Solstice experience. After the service we will burn the Yule Log, and gather at the hearthfire in the McKeeman Room for warmth and wassail.

Donations of the sweet and savory in pastries, or appetizers; easy, pick-up foods are very welcomed. Childcare will be available. Please contact Rebekah Benner at 330-780-7476 or to volunteer your help, or if you have questions.

Wednesday, December 24 at 4:30 pm. and 7:00 p.m.

Two Christmas Eve Candlelight Services

Join us as we welcome and celebrate the Christian holiday of Christmas with two candlelight services. Both services include readings and carols, along with the lighting of the candelabra. The 4:30 service features storytelling, singing and our children’s Instant Christmas Pageant lead by DRE Rich Roberts.  Children are invited to come dressed as a character in the traditional nativity story (angel, wise man, etc.), or as an animal for the stable.  All are welcome. The 7:00 service features a homily by Rev. Tim Temerson and holiday music sung by the UUCA Chancel Choir led by music director Bob Carlyon. IF YOU ARE ABLE, PLEASE BRING A DOZEN COOKIES OR KID-FRIENDLY SNACKS (GRAPES, CRACKERS & CHEESE, ETC.) TO SHARE AT OUR TIME OF FELLOWSHIP AFTER BOTH SERVICES.
