Path to Membership

Membership at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron is accomplished by signing our membership book. In order to become a member, one must either 1) attend the “New UU Class” or 2) Have a conversation about membership with the minister. New members are periodically recognized during a new member ceremony during a Sunday morning worship service.

Membership in a religious community is a deeply sacred act capable of enriching one’s life and changing the world. At the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, we view membership as a shared commitment that will enrich your life and our church community. Making such a commitment is an important step in your spiritual journey and in the life of this community.

The UU Church of Akron invites members to make four important commitments:

  • Regular attendance on Sunday mornings
  • Finding ways to serve the church
  • Finding ways for the church to serve you
  • Making a financial commitment to the congregation

If you have questions or are interested in becoming a member of our congregation, please contact Rev. Tim Temerson. Email Tim at revtim@uuakron.org.
